Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has supported Zinedine Zidane's appointment as head coach of the French national team. The star footballer gave a statement to L'Equipe on the matter:
"As captain of the national team, what do I think about the future? I think it would be a good idea to let Deschamps finish his work properly. But I'm not living under a rock either, I know who everyone is talking about.
Zidane's appointment? There is no need to complicate the situation with him. He's Zidane. No one will refuse him. Only he can do it. If it's him, great! If it's someone else, that's fine too. But he is the only person in the history of French football who has almost all the rights."
It should be noted that Didier Deschamps will leave the post of head coach of the national team after the 2026 World Cup. According to press reports, Zidane is already preparing for the upcoming appointment.
