In the 1/16 finals of the King's Cup, Real Madrid had a difficult time against Talavera, a representative of the third division. The "Royal Club" won 3-2, Kilian Mbappe scored two goals.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the French football player scored two goals in the cup, bringing the number of goals scored for Real in 2025 to 58. Cristiano Ronaldo currently holds Real's goal-scoring record in a calendar year, scoring 59 goals for the club alone in 2013.
Kilian needs to score two more goals to break Cristiano's record, and the striker has only one game left to do so - Real will face Sevilla at home on December 20 in the 17th round of La Liga. The "Royal Club"'s next league game will be against Betis on January 4, 2026 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappe has already reached the second-best goal tally scored by Ronaldo and Real since the beginning of the year: like Kilian in 2025, the Portuguese also scored 58 goals in 2012. The legend is also third on the list of Real's all-time top scorers for a calendar year, equaling Cristiano's 56 goals in 2016.
