Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has spoken about the possibility of extending the contract of team captain Manuel Neuer.
Idman.Biz reports that Eberl emphasized that Neuer's injury did not affect the club's plans.
The club official also said that they have set a specific time for negotiations:
"We have always said that we want to wait until the end of March, when he turns 40. At that time, we will sit down and calmly discuss everything. He has to tell us how he feels. We, in turn, must decide how we will proceed."
Eberl praised Neuer's performance this season:
"He has had an incredible season so far, he is a top goalkeeper. His recent injury doesn't change anything for us. In the end, we will make the decision together with Manuel."
It should be noted that Manuel Neuer, who has defended the honor of Bayern since 2011, has a current contract until the summer of 2026. The German goalkeeper will turn 40 on March 27.
