"Qarabag's" success lies with head coach Gurban Gurbanov. He demands attacking football, pressing and creativity from the players.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani news agency AZERTAC reported that these words were said by Qarabag's Polish goalkeeper Mateusz Kochalski in an interview with his country's press.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper said that his team always plays attacking football, regardless of the level of their opponent: "I have heard that they call us the "Barcelona" of Azerbaijan, but we are "Qarabag". Although the players are from different countries, there is a great atmosphere in the locker room. I communicate with my teammates in English and I am also learning a few words in Russian. The most important thing is that the language of football unites us. I don't feel any pressure here. The fans know that we are doing our best to succeed. They were disappointed with the result in the Europa League last season, but we compensated for it by winning the national championship and qualifying for the Champions League. This brought great joy to the Azerbaijanis. Thanks to Qarabag's successes, Azerbaijanis can believe that the national team will move forward. Of course, there are many quality football players in Azerbaijan. Qarabag's game in the Champions League should encourage foreign clubs to transfer Azerbaijani football players. Many of them can succeed in the top leagues."
It should be noted that the Polish national team goalkeeper moved to Qarabag last summer.
