There will be no mass naturalization process in the Azerbaijan U-20 national team.
According to "Report", this was stated by AFFA Executive Vice-President Sarkhan Hajiyev at a press conference.
"A player of Azerbaijani origin may be involved. Or one of the parents may be purely Azerbaijani. The player must have been born and raised in Azerbaijan. This is a prerequisite. But again, the naturalized player must have a great desire to play in our national team. We must feel that he has the desire. But mass naturalization, for example, 17 out of 20 players being naturalized, is not expected."
It should be reminded that the U-20 national team will participate in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in 2027.
