Sport24.az reports that a mass brawl broke out between the players of the Italian and Argentine clubs after the referee's final whistle.
At the end of the match, Argentine defender Marcos Acuna clashed with Dutchman Denzel Dumfries several times. Although the players tried to start a fight each time, the referees separated them. However, after the match, players from both teams started a mass brawl while heading to the locker room. Players and coaches tried to calm Acuna, while Dumfries ran to the locker room.
It should be noted that "Inter" finished the group stage with 7 points, taking first place and advancing to the 1/8 finals of the tournament. Their opponent will be the Brazilian representative "Fluminense" club, which took second place in Group F. "River Plate" finished third in Group E and left the tournament.
