Residents of the village of Gariblar in the Masalli region report that the village stadium was illegally sold and demand that government agencies resolve the problem.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to the villagers, a 0.60-hectare stadium area for public use was unreasonably sold to several people in 2017 by the then chairman of the municipality.
The villagers stated that the stadium was actually allocated for public use of the Gariblar village since 1940, and in 2007, by the order of the former head of the executive power and with the approval of 13 state institutions, it was officially registered as the village's sports ground.
According to allegations, despite all these documents, the stadium area was illegally sold and houses were built there. A villager notes that although the courts issued decisions confirming that the stadium belongs to the village, the executive bodies do not implement these decisions.
The complainant stated that applications have been sent to various government agencies regarding the issue since 2017.
Residents of the village of Gariblar in Masalli appealed to President Ilham Aliyev through social networks, asking for the demolition of illegal buildings, the restoration of the stadium to its previous state, and the execution of court decisions.
