Hungarian national team head coach Marko Rossi shared his thoughts after their friendly match victory against Azerbaijan. According to Sport24.az, the expert answered journalists' questions.
- Did the Azerbaijani national team surprise you in any component?
- We treated the opponent with respect. We tried to play football and dictate the game. We were able to do what we wanted. In the last 10 minutes, the advantage passed to the opponent. Both teams fought. There is no point in complaining about the Azerbaijani national team. We were the favorites. Statistics and chances were on our side. If Azerbaijan had been lucky at the end of the game, the match would have ended in a draw.
- In the Azerbaijani national team's goal, it seemed like the ball touched the player's hand...
- Frankly, I couldn't see it from the technical area. I watched it after the game and there was a hand. However, since there was no VAR, the decision did not change.
- You played in a different system. Were you satisfied?
- We played well, created chances, and maintained the rhythm. I was satisfied with my team. Only in the last 10 minutes there was confusion.
- What do you think about the goalkeepers?
- Both played well and without mistakes. It was a pre-planned change.
- Were there any players you liked in the Azerbaijani national team?
- I would like to mention Mahir Emreli. It is no coincidence that he plays in the II Bundesliga. He played a good game. Other players of the Azerbaijani national team also performed well. It would not be right not to be satisfied with their game.
- What changes were noticeable in the Azerbaijani national team?
- Although we won 3:1 in our first game, it was difficult. Games in Baku are not easy. It is possible that the Azerbaijani national team is technically behind, but it is a well-organized team.
