One of the best goalscorers in the history of the English Premier League, former Australian national team striker Mark Viduka, who played for Leeds, Middlesbrough and Newcastle, has supported Ukraine and stated that his mother is Ukrainian.
Viduka participated in a campaign to support Ukraine in the conflict with Russia. Sport24.az reports that the Australian legend, in an interview with the "Український футбол" website, spoke about his Ukrainian roots:
"My father is Croatian, from a small village called Pridraga near Zadar. And my mother is Ukrainian from Slavonski Brod. They both immigrated to Australia in the 60s and met in Melbourne. My father was a builder and my mother was a housewife who raised five children".
It should be noted that the 49-year-old veteran footballer has played in 407 English Premier League matches in total and scored 202 goals.
