Barcelona goalkeeper Mark-Andre ter Stegen, who is on loan at Girona, will have to undergo surgery after suffering an injury in the Spanish League's 22nd round match against Oviedo.
Idman.Biz reports that the match ended 1-0 in favor of Oviedo.
"This Friday, Mark-Andre ter Stegen will undergo surgery on a thigh muscle injury sustained in the match against Oviedo. The period of his absence will be determined after the surgery," Girona's social media account stated.
Earlier, the media reported that the German goalkeeper's recovery could take up to two months. Ter Stegen joined Girona on January 21 and has already appeared in two matches – against Getafe (1:1) and Oviedo (0:1).
