A historic event has occurred in the German Bundesliga. Following a defeat to Heidenheim (1:3), Union Berlin's management dismissed Steffen Baumgart and temporarily entrusted the team to Marie-Louise Eta.
Idman.Biz reports that with this appointment, the 34-year-old Eta has become the first female specialist in Bundesliga history to hold the position of head coach of a men's team.
Marie-Louise Eta is not a stranger to the club. She joined the team's coaching staff in 2023, and since 2025, she has been working with Union's U-19 youth team.
