Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has responded to a question about how difficult it is to leave defender Axel Disasi and forward Raheem Sterling out of the squad.
Idman.biz reports that neither player has featured in any game this season.
"My father was a fisherman. He used to go to work every day for 50 years from 2am to 10am. That's difficult, not being a footballer," said Maresca.
Earlier, media reported that Sterling would train separately from the main Chelsea squad until the January transfer window.
Last season, Sterling played on loan at Arsenal, scoring 1 goal and providing 5 assists in 28 matches.
Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The footballer's current contract with Chelsea runs until the summer of 2029.
