US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that tickets to the 2026 World Cup will not guarantee fans a visa to enter the country. Sport24.az reports that he made this statement while speaking at a meeting of the World Cup working group at the White House.
However, he noted that having a ticket will help expedite visa interviews at the US consular office. Interviews for ticket holders will be held 6-8 weeks after application.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has advised applying for a visa now. Because for 80 percent of countries, the waiting time for a visa is 60 days.
It should be noted that the WC-2026 will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
