Former Real Madrid defender Marcelo recalled the matches he played against Lionel Messi during his time at Barcelona. Sport24.az reports that the Brazilian, speaking to FourFourTwo, spoke about the difficulty of stopping Messi:
"Playing against Messi... To say it's difficult is an understatement, it doesn't fully express it. Sometimes playing against Messi was a nightmare."
It should be noted that Messi spent 17 years (2003-2021) at Barcelona, becoming a true club legend. During this time, he scored 672 goals in 778 matches, won 10 La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues, as well as 35 trophies, including many other awards.
