Chelsea and Spain defender Marc Cucurella spoke about why his transfer to Manchester City fell through when he was playing for Brighton. He said this in a statement to the El Desmarque portal:
"City was one of the best teams in the world and was constantly winning. I also wanted to go. When they call you like that and the team's head coach Josep Guardiola personally wants to see you at his disposal, you are ready to kneel if necessary.
Unfortunately, no agreement was reached between the clubs on the issue of compensation. Brighton management wanted fantastic money from the other side for my transfer".
It should be noted that the Spanish defender has been wearing the Chelsea uniform since 2022.
