Bayern coach Vincent Kompany has shared his thoughts on goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who will turn 40 next week. Sport24.az reports that the Belgian spoke to Bild about the experienced goalkeeper's strong character:
"40 is a young age, I didn't know that before. But I understand it now. In the past, my knees decided differently, otherwise I could have continued playing. The main thing is to be less about football. Manuel fought to recover from a serious injury. He is in incredible form this season. This is also impressive, it shows a strong character. Manuel continues to reap the rewards of his character in a good way time and time again. We are almost the same age. This is not only a physical aspect, but also a mental one. If his body stays in good shape, that's another matter. But what's impressive is how he constantly motivates himself mentally. You really need a lot of motivation to reach this level."
