According to the source, Christopher Uivell, who is represented in the club's management, insists on seeing the German coach "behind the wheel". The club believes that Nagelsmann could be the next German coach to dominate the Premier League and repeat Jurgen Klopp's legendary success at Liverpool.
However, key players, including Bruno Fernandes, are actively supporting current interim coach Michael Carrick. Fernandes has informed officials that he can only sign a new contract with £400,000 a week plus bonuses if Carrick leaves. If Carrick continues in his job, the Portuguese has stressed that he will want a salary to suit both parties.
