A Greek court has handed "Manchester United" defender Harry Maguire a 15-month suspended prison sentence for an incident on the island of Mykonos in August 2020. Sport24.az reports that the Daily Mail newspaper reported this.
The footballer was found guilty of petty hooliganism, as well as resisting arrest and attempting to bribe law enforcement officers. The incident occurred while he was on vacation in Greece.
It should be noted that Maguire was initially sentenced to 21 months in prison (suspended) for the events that occurred four years ago. However, his lawyers appealed the decision. The verdict was overturned by a higher court and the case was sent back for retrial. Due to a number of postponements, the case was finally retried six years later. The "Red Devils" defender is expected to reject the verdict and appeal the new decision.
