"Manchester United" and "Manchester City" are interested in the transfer of West Ham's 21-year-old central midfielder Mateus Fernandes. Insider Ekrem Konur reported this on the "Sports Boom" portal, according to Sport24.az.
According to the source, the Portuguese footballer's contract has an early termination clause in case West Ham leaves the English Premier League. The club's management understands that if they are relegated and the clause comes into force, they could lose the player for free. Therefore, the London club is considering selling Fernandes this month.
It should be noted that the Portuguese has appeared in 24 matches in all tournaments this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. According to "Transfermarkt", the player's market value is 32 million euros.
"West Ham" has 17 points after 22 rounds and is in 18th place.
