115 charges have been filed against the club in connection with violations of financial regulations in the English Premier League. The announcement of the verdict on these charges has been postponed for the time being. The club's management believes that the reason for this postponement is the league's potential loss of 2.5 billion pounds sterling (approximately 2.8 billion euros) if the verdict is announced.
According to reports, if the "Citizens" are excluded from the English Championship, star players such as striker Erling Haaland, as well as head coach Jose Guardiola, will leave the tournament. In this case, television channels will have the right to terminate contracts with the Premier League, which will immediately cause the league to lose 2.5 billion pounds in revenue.
