"Kapaz" goalkeeper Mammad Huseynov has released a statement regarding the unfortunate incident that occurred in the 26th minute of the game against "Imishli". Sport24.az reports that he clarified the details of the episode and his attitude towards the opposing side in a post on his social media account.
According to the footballer, at the moment of the incident, while running for the ball, he completely lost control because his left calf muscle tore, and as a result, he could not avoid the collision:
"After my muscle tore, I was under the influence of sharp pain and completely lost control in that instant. I couldn't stop myself or intervene properly with the ball. You can see the pain and helplessness in my facial expression in the photo taken at that moment."
Mammad Huseynov emphasized that he has friendly relations with his colleague Vusal Ganbarov and noted that the incident did not happen on purpose:
"No one would deliberately make such a move and risk their career. I have a friendship with Vusal and I would never want such a thing to happen. It was just that the tearing of my muscle did not allow me to prevent this incident."
The goalkeeper wished his colleague recovery and apologized to both his teammates and fans:
"I wish Vusal Ganbarov recovery from Allah and wish him to return to the field strongly as soon as possible. I apologize to all my team and fans for leaving my team alone on the field and for having a share in our defeat. I wish all this had never happened."
It should be noted that the match ended with a 0:3 defeat for "Kapaz".
