Madrid police have carried out an operation resulting in the confiscation of 63 season tickets for Real Madrid games.
Idman.Biz reports that these tickets were being illegally resold a few hours before the Champions League match against Monaco on January 20 (6:1).
El Mundo reports that the woman suspected of the crime was offering tickets near the "Bernabeu" stadium for prices ranging from 200 to 2000 euros.
The woman is considered the "queen of selling tickets by hand" and has experience in such crimes. She is over 50 years old and often visits restaurants to attract customers. When she was arrested, police officers found several envelopes in the cash register, each containing a Real Madrid season ticket registered in the owner's name. These season tickets can be given out for free rental, but the woman used them for resale.
According to police, ticket prices ranged from 200 to 2000 euros, depending on the match and stadium seating. The woman contacted season ticket holders in advance to find out at what price they wanted to resell them. She added a commission of approximately 200 euros to each ticket. At the time of her arrest, she had earned 2,000 euros.
The confiscated season tickets will now be returned to Florentino Perez's club, and the club will take action against their owners, including cancellation of membership and disqualification for one or more seasons. Police are also opening a case for sanctions for reselling tickets.
