French club "Lyon" has raised the necessary funds to appeal the decision to relegate them to Ligue 2.
"Report" reports that the club's press service has released this information.
The club managed to raise the 100 million euros required for the appeal.
The organization (DNCG) that oversees and monitors the accounts of French football clubs has decided to ensure the team's participation in the main league, as well as in European cups. For this, a total of 117 million euros was paid, including additional expenses.
It should be noted that "Lyon" finished sixth in Ligue 1 with 57 points in the 2024/2025 season and qualified for the Europa League. The decision to send the team to a lower division was made due to irregularities in the financial statements.
