Croatian national team and Milan midfielder Luka Modrić may return to his homeland after the 2026 World Cup. Sport24.az reports that this was reported by Sport Gazette.
The 40-year-old footballer may wear the Zagreb Dinamo jersey again. Modrić is a graduate of the club and started his professional career at Dinamo. It is known that Modrić's idol in his youth was the current president of the Zagreb club, Zvonimir Boban, which may influence his decision.
The Croatian is currently focused on playing in Milan, but does not rule out returning to his homeland in the future. At the same time, the Italian giant has the option to extend his contract for another season. The club's management is ready to use this clause if the player himself expresses a desire to stay.
Modrić has participated in 28 matches in all tournaments this season, scored two goals and provided three assists.
