The head coach of the Portuguese U-21 national team, Luis Freyre, shared his thoughts on the match they will hold against Azerbaijan in Barcelos in the opening stage of Group D of the EURO-2027 qualifying round. Sport24.az reports that the young expert said that they are thinking about victory:
"Azerbaijan usually plays with a 5-4-1 scheme. They have three central defenders and three fast players in attack. This team doesn't always strive for pressing. They know how to play strong in defense. We will have to play more intensely. We have to move the ball quickly and be patient, find zones for attacks. We need to get the ball back quickly and increase the tempo of the game. We are capable of this. We are only thinking about victory and thinking about building the team of the future."
It should be noted that the Portugal-Azerbaijan match will be held today and the game will start at 22:30 Baku time.
