Former Portuguese national team player Luis Figo has commented on the comparisons made between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
İdman.Biz reports that his statement was published in local media.
He emphasized that both stars have written their names in the history of football and said that he is not a fan of direct parallels:
"I don't like to compare. Both are in the history of football, so I don't see the need to put them head to head. Each has its own unique qualities."
Figo added that it is not correct to compare players who have played in different eras: "I cannot compare Messi with Maradona, or Ronaldo with Eusebio. They were football players with different qualities and played in different eras. I just prefer to enjoy the great moments they gave us."
