Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente spoke about the disagreement between the national team's coaching staff and "Barcelona" regarding Lamin Yamal. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to "AS" publication about this:
"Each of us will defend our own interests. I understand his position and he will definitely understand me. Because he was also "at the helm" of the national team in Germany.
I am focusing on my area of responsibility, which is being the coach of the Spanish national team, and this means attracting the best players to represent our country. This alone justifies any decision we make.
And I want to emphasize that we take care of the players' health. This is our priority and we can prove it. When we have even the slightest doubt about Lamin or anyone else, that player did not appear on the field and returned to his club. My conscience is clear".
It should be noted that the conflict began in September, after Yamal was injured while in the national team and returned to "Barcelona". Head coach Hans-Dieter Flick accused the Spanish national team of not caring for the players.
