West Ham United has announced on its official website that midfielder Lucas Paqueta will soon be moving to Brazilian club Flamengo.
Idman.Biz reports that West Ham United has confirmed that Lucas Paqueta has been granted permission to undergo a medical examination and discuss terms with Flamengo after agreeing on a fee.
Lucas had made it clear that he wanted to return to Brazil and start over for personal and family reasons after being cleared of Football Association charges of illegal activities in July 2025. This situation took two years to resolve and caused him serious psychological stress.
Despite the club's best efforts to persuade Lucas to stay, he insisted on leaving. Therefore, the head coach and the club reluctantly accepted his transfer request.
"West Ham United Football Club would like to take this opportunity to thank our leadership, players, staff and loyal fans for their unwavering and dedicated support during Lucas' time at the club and especially over the last two and a half years. The club is currently refraining from further comment," the club said in an official statement.
