Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta has stated his support for Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior. Sport24.az reports that Vinicius was allegedly subjected to racist insults by rival player Gianluca Prestianni in the first leg of the Champions League play-off stage against Benfica.
Paqueta said the following about Vinicius, with whom he is a teammate in the national team:
"Vini and I talk often. It is very sad to witness what is happening to him. Those who know him know how kind and good a person he is. He seems to have been chosen as a victim. Flamengo, I, and the whole team want to wholeheartedly support him. We hope that this will be resolved as soon as possible. This issue has been blown way out of proportion. It's awful to experience such actions."
