Valeri Lobanovskyi is known as the legendary coach of Dynamo Kyiv and the USSR national team. He often imposed strict rules in his teams that the players did not like. But few dared to stand up to the great coach - they had to endure and obey.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that Lobanovskyi could often punish for a trifle that hardly anyone would notice in ordinary life. There were no trifles for the coach. For his players, he was a tyrant father.
Some of his actions now seem funny and absurd. Vladislav Ternavskyi spoke about one such case - he played for Dynamo Kyiv's reserve team and was called up to the main team, where he worked under Lobanovskyi's leadership. The defender trained with the main team, then spent his free time.
"Once we were sitting in the cinema hall at the base. We were watching a movie. It was about real life. A plasma TV - it was a terrible rarity at that time. Lobanovskyi peeked inside. A bed scene was shown on the screen! It probably lasted 20 seconds, but how inappropriate it was!" - Ternavskyi recalled in one of his interviews.
The team was stunned when they saw Lobanovskyi looking at the screen with wild shots. The great coach frowned and said: "What are you watching before the game? Take the cassette!"
Thus, the players were left without a movie through no fault of their own - the coach simply came at the wrong moment. No one dared to explain the situation to him - there was an understanding that this could only make the situation worse.
Ternavskyi does not remember which film was shown that fateful evening - and it does not matter that much. But the football player will forever remember Lobanovskyi's stern look, who suspected his team of watching adult movies.
