Liverpool Football Club has retired the number 20 jersey to immortalize the memory of Diogo Jota.
"Report" reports that this is stated in the information posted on the Merseysiders website.
It should be noted that the Portuguese football player, who died in a traffic accident today, wore the number 20 jersey at Liverpool.
"Number 20 will be immortalized for its contribution to Liverpool's 20th championship won in the 2024/2025 season. The winning goal he scored in the Merseyside derby in April in front of the Kop stand with his typical trick and shot was also the last goal of his life," the statement said.
It is worth remembering that on July 3, 28-year-old Diogo Jota and his 26-year-old brother Andre died in a traffic accident in the Spanish province of Zamora.
