American investment group Fenway Sports Group (FSG) wants to buy Getafe. Sport24.az reports that the "AS" publication has reported on this.
According to the source, investors are attracted by the club's results in La Liga, the recently approved stadium renovation project, and Getafe's development plan, as well as its proximity to the country's capital, Madrid.
In the summer of 2024, FSG announced that they were negotiating to buy Bordeaux. However, the deal fell through due to difficulties with stadium rental.
Liverpool, Boston baseball and Pittsburgh hockey clubs also belong to FSG.
It should be noted that Getafe finished the 2024/25 season in 13th place.
