Inter Miami forward and captain Lionel Messi talked about what motivates him at the age of 38. Sport24.az reports that the Argentine star made a statement to Fabrizio Romano about this:
"I love to compete, I love to play. It's what I've loved since I was a kid, and I still enjoy the game throughout my life. I still feel the same passion - I want to participate, help the team and play my best. Every time I go out on the field, I want to win. I'm a competitor, I try to convey that feeling to my teammates, and as long as I feel good and physically at a high level, I'll keep playing.
We have played in every tournament and reached the end of each one. On the one hand, this is great, but on the other hand, it is incredibly exhausting physically and mentally. I travel constantly. But I feel good and I have the last step to take ahead of me."
It should be noted that Inter Miami is currently playing in the MLS playoffs. The team will face Nashville in the third, decisive match to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
