Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi believes it is the perfect time for football to develop in the United States, given the 2026 World Cup, some of whose matches will be held in the USA.
"I think football can develop in the USA, and the time has come for that. The World Cup being held in North America next summer will be a great opportunity for US fans to watch. I think the USA will do very well," Messi said.
Idman.Biz reports that the 2026 World Cup will be held in three countries - the USA, Canada and Mexico. The final of the competition will be on June 19. Forty-eight national teams will participate in the tournament.
