Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has commented on his attitude towards statistics.
Idman.Biz reports that the ESPN publication published the player's statement.
The Argentine star stated that he does not prioritize personal indicators:
"People pay a lot of attention to statistics today, but I don't like it that much. I don't think I necessarily have to score or assist to break records or pass someone. I live and enjoy football. I like being an important figure in the game, but I have never played for statistics."
38-year-old L.Messi has played 33 matches for Inter Miami in the MLS. He scored 35 goals and made 21 assists in those matches.
