The reason for this is the failure of the Ligue 1 representative to fulfill its financial obligations.
According to the decision of the French Football Federation, "Lyon" must compete in Ligue 2 next season. The club has the right to appeal the decision.
It should be noted that "Lyon" faced "Qarabag" in Baku within the league stage of the Europa League last season and won with a score of 4:1.
