The latest winner of the Libertadores Cup, Botafogo, has sacked its head coach.
Idman.biz reports that Renato Paiva has parted ways with the club after an unsuccessful performance at the Club World Championship.
The team, which defeated PSG in the group stage of the tournament, stopped fighting in the 1/8 finals. Botafogo lost to another Brazilian representative, Palmeiras, in extra time (0:1).
It should be noted that Renato Paiva won Botafogo's first Libertadores Cup title in its history.
