Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has once again spoken about not being able to win the Ballon d'Or in 2020. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement to the BBC about this:
"It was the peak of my career, I won everything with Bayern. I think the hardest thing about this situation is that I still don't understand why I didn't win the Ballon d'Or."
The Polish forward was considered a major contender for the award in 2020. However, that year, France Football, for the first time in history, did not hold a vote for the best football players and coaches of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It should be noted that in December 2020, the Polish forward was awarded the "The Best" award established by FIFA as the best football player of the year.
