Leroy Mikels: "I had a great start both at 'Zira' and in the Rwanda national team"

Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Zira striker Leroy Mikels in an interview with the Rwandan press.

He stated that his adaptation to Azerbaijan and Zira played an important role for him:

"Zira is a team with goals. I feel very comfortable and free here. I couldn't help but be happy that I scored both in the game against Turan Tovuz in the national cup and in the match against Shamakhi in the championship. But if we had won the match against Shamakhi, my joy would have been even greater. Still, I think things are going well for us."

L. Mikels believes that Zira's chances of qualifying for the European Cup are not small:

"We continue our fight both in the championship and in the national cup. We will do our best in both fronts until the end. Of course, like other teams, we want to qualify for the European Cups. I think we have the team to do it."

The German-born player also touched on his debut for the Rwandan national team last month. He said he had a great start in the national team:

"I scored in both the game against Grenada (4:0) and Estonia (2:0). There couldn't have been a better debut. I will try to keep the same pace in the future."
