Leo Messi talks about his love for "Barcelona", the separation with Laporta and future plans

Leo Messi, who plays as a forward for Inter Miami in the US MLS league, could not hide his emotions in the face of a video of fans showing their love for him.
Idman.Biz reports that the Argentine football player emphasized that the love of "Barcelona" fans for him remains alive despite the years.

Messi, who said that he has won many awards in his career, said that this is not an award given for sports performance, record or winning a title, but the love and gratitude of the city that accepted him at the age of 12.

Juan Vehils, the director of "Sport" publication, went to Miami and met with Messi to express his unforgettable mark. The meeting took place while he was preparing for the MLS championship play-offs. Due to the schedule, the football player could not attend the award night in Madrid, so the award was presented personally in Florida. Messi and the fans watched a video of gratitude together while receiving the award.

Messi got emotional while watching the video and had difficulty expressing his words.

"Indeed, we have experienced a lot together, good moments and not so good moments... Everything is not beautiful during a long career, there are difficulties. But I always felt that place was my home, my place, and I cherished them. I would like to spend my whole career there, not go to another club. I would only like to play there in Europe," said Leo.

Leo Messi also described having to leave the club because Laporta did not renew the contract as "a wound in his heart."

"Unfortunately, everything developed differently, but what we experienced together is a lifelong memory. I haven't been to Barcelona for a long time, I haven't been to the stadium either. It was the year of the pandemic, I left the club without fans, it was a very strange year. I have very good memories, thank you all very much. My love for you is also unchanged," Messi emphasized.

The Argentinian striker also openly expressed his intention to return to Barcelona: "Of course, I will return. I will go to the stadium as a fan, I will watch my team, I will support my club. I am here for a few more years, but then we will return to Barcelona. Because as I always said, that is my home. We miss you very much and we will return."
