Bayern's 18-year-old midfielder Lenart Karl has been called up to the German national team for the first time.
According to Idman.Biz, the midfielder could make his debut in friendly matches against Switzerland and Ghana. The matches will be held on March 27 and 30. National team coach Julian Nagelsmann explained how the conversation with the young player went.
"When I called him, he was at training and didn't answer at first. I was very happy about that - otherwise I would have scolded him. When he finally answered, he was happy. Firstly, because training was over. Secondly, because he is now part of our team. I don't expect miracles from him. There is no pressure on him. Just like at Bayern, he should bring youth and a carefree spirit to our team," said Nagelsmann.
This season, Karl has played 33 games in all competitions for the Munich club, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
