Championship side "Leicester" has been deducted six points. Sport24.az reports that this was reported by "The Telegraph".
According to the source, the "foxes" were punished for violating the Premier League's financial rules for the 2023/24 season.
"Leicester" is accused of failing to submit annual financial reports by December 31 and failing to meet the standard of "providing full, comprehensive and timely assistance to the Premier League."
"Leicester's" financial crisis has resulted in the club incurring a total loss of more than £200 million in the three-year period ending June 30, 2024. This is £119 million more than the maximum £81 million allowed under the Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
It is noted that after the penalty, the "foxes" fell to 20th place in the standings. "Leicester" won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.
