"As I said at my first press conference after arriving in Latvia, the doors of the national team will always be open to everyone." Sport24.az reports that this was said by the head coach of the Latvian national team, Paolo Nicolato.
The specialist, who announced the squad for the games against Azerbaijan and Albania in June, commented on his choice of invited players:
"The doors of the national team are open to those who have never played for the national team. However, the place of those who have been here for a long time is not guaranteed. This applies to all players. We want to see new players in action. We will give them a chance to show themselves. We have also called up players from U-21 who have made a good impression and attracted our attention. I have spoken with them and I know that they will wear this uniform with pride."
It should be noted that the Latvia-Azerbaijan match will be held in Riga on June 7.
