The reason why Brazilian striker Derik Laserda did not transfer to "Qarabag" in the winter "transfer window" has become clear. Sport24.az obtained this information from a reliable source.
In fact, the 26-year-old football player wanted to play for the Azerbaijani champion. However, no agreement was reached on salary during the negotiations.
The player, who belongs to the "Cuiabá" club in his country, has been loaned to the Russian representative "Baltika". He will play for this team until the end of the season.
Nevertheless, the striker is still on "Qarabag"'s transfer list. The Azerbaijani champion will apply for the player again in the summer.
However, if UEFA removes the ban on Russian clubs from next season and "Baltika" qualifies for European cups, Laserda will positively consider staying at this club.
Otherwise, he plans to move to "Qarabag" in the summer, which is why he has not been permanently transferred to "Baltika".
It should be noted that Erik Laserda played for "Sport Recife" on loan in 2025, scoring 6 goals in 17 games.
