Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that Real Madrid periodically talks about Blaugrana in order to divert public attention from their own problems.
Idman.Biz reports that AS published Laporta's views on this matter.
"Joy has returned to Barcelona and they are forced to only talk about Barca in order to avoid their shortcomings. I will have time to talk about this later. Not here and now, in a calmer environment, because I think the situation is getting out of control," said Laporta.
Earlier, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez called the "Negreira case" the most serious scandal in football.
It should be reminded that in 2023, Barcelona was accused of bribing Jose Maria Negreira, the former vice-president of the Technical Referees Committee (CTA) working at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), during payments. Barcelona was accused of paying up to 8.4 million euros in bribes between 2001 and 2018.
According to the Catalan club, Negreira was hired as an external consultant to prepare technical reports on referees. The former CTA vice-president denied receiving bribes to influence referees.
