Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that he is ready to hold a match in honor of former Blaugrana striker Lionel Messi at the renovated Camp Nou.
Idman.Biz reports that on November 7, Blaugrana players held an open training session at the renovated arena.
"Applauding Messi would be a great way to open the Camp Nou. The stands would be full. I would be happy to organize a match in honor of Leo," said Laporta.
Lionel Messi defended the honor of Barcelona from 2003-2021.
Barcelona's home stadium has been under renovation since 2023. The Marca newspaper reported that 21,795 fans attended Blaugrana's open training session.
