Lamine Yamal, the forward for the Spanish football team "Barcelona", has revealed his attitude towards star football player Lionel Messi.
Idman.Biz reports that in an interview with CBS, the young player expressed high opinions about Messi, but emphasized that he does not intend to imitate him.
Yamal stated that he has great respect for Messi for his place in football history and the work he has done:
"I understand what he represents in football. If we meet, there will be mutual respect. I think he is the best football player of all time."
However, the 17-year-old winger noted that he wants to create his own path:
"Messi knows that I am a good football player, and I value him greatly. This feeling is mutual. But I don't want to be Messi. I want to forge my own path. I have no intention of playing like him or wearing the "number ten" that is famous for him."
