It is noted that teams interested in such an initiative were selected to participate in the project: "Barcelona", "Villarreal", "Atletico Madrid" and "Girona". The match abroad was agreed in 2018, and the selection of specific participants was determined by schedule constraints.
Earlier, the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) announced symbolic protests during the matches of the 9th round, expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency and dialogue between the players and the La Liga management regarding the match in the USA.
