La Liga president reveals Yamal's age prevented him from winning the Ballon d'Or

La Liga president Javier Tebas has revealed that Barcelona's 18-year-old footballer Lamine Yamal was not worthy of the Ballon d'Or due to his young age.

Idman.biz reports that the winner of the Ballon d'Or in the 2024/25 season was PSG and France national team striker Usman Dembele.

"If he were over 23, I am sure he would have won this award too, but because he is younger, they gave him another award (the "Raymond Kopa" trophy)," ESPN quoted Tebas as saying.
