La Liga club captains have requested clarification regarding the holding of matches in the USA.
Idman.biz reports that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has sent a request to UEFA regarding the possibility of holding the La Liga match between "Barcelona" and "Villarreal" (matchday 17) in Miami.
This meeting is scheduled for December 20.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", none of the La Liga club captains were aware of these plans. Although the players are not against changing the venue of the match, they have requested detailed information. They are particularly interested in the following questions: Why was the "Villarreal" – "Barcelona" game chosen? How many games are planned to be held abroad in the future?
In addition, the players have also inquired whether the terms of the cooperation agreement have been complied with. Article 8 requires that the preparation camp before away games should be a maximum of 72 hours (including travel time).
According to Article 9, the players' weekly rest should be at least 1.5 days, with at least 1 day being continuous.
The captains have also requested information on the following topics: weather conditions in Miami at the time of the game, medical and legal insurance issues, and television revenues from games held abroad.
It is noted that if these issues are not clarified, the players may oppose holding the game in the USA and, in general, playing La Liga matches abroad.
